Halloween 2011 :: Zombie

Got another halloween look for you guys. This time I decided to go with a zombie! This is my second time using liquid latex and let me tell you it gets easier every time!

Here's some pics of my first run on my friend...

Let me tell you it is a hell of a lot easier to do this stuff on someone else then yourself! But because I did have so much fun doing his makeup I decided I wanted to do a tutorial for you guys and share the fun!

Here's what I came up with...

I love how I ended up wearing a brightly colored tie-dye shirt to do this zombie look. But because I was using fake blood and the latex I didn't want to chance ruining any of my shirts. If you like how this came out check my tutorial out to see how I did it!

Halloween 2011 :: Skull

Well here we are, look number two in our series! This time I decided to do a skull and while looking at an image of a skull looks easy it was a lot harder than I thought. I had to keep washing my face and retrying the look.

This was also the first time I used cream makeup. This also proved difficult to use. I found it easiest to put a pile of it on a clear cutting board and use my foundation brush to apply. However, when it starts to dry it clumps and starts to pull away from the skin. I wouldn't worry about using your makeup brushes though. After I finished the video I simply used my e.l.f. brush shampoo ($3; Buy it here) and it came clean.

But lets get on to the good stuff! Todays look.

Halloween Series :: Ringmaster Makeup

So its that time of year again, the leaves changing colors and the ghouls come out to play! Yes its halloween time! And to kick of the season I'm going to do another series of videos. This one will feature some halloween looks. I'm hoping to snag my fiance and brother into getting in on the fun and using them for some tutorials this month but we'll see how that pans out...

Any who... For my first look I decided to do a ringmaster look. This was actually my costume last year. Surprisingly this was a very hard costume to get. I looked everywhere and couldn't find one I liked so I took matters into my own hands and actually made my jacket for the costume. Let me tell you... I won't be doing that again. While I loved how it came out it was also a nightmare to get it done. Haha!

Perhaps a little background will help. From middle school till high school I took about 5 years of sewing. I didn't do it my senior year cause I had no interest in making a formal gown as that was the assignment for seniors in sewing class. Well waiting 6 years to get back into a sewing machine taught me I forgot A LOT! Regardless of all the issues I was able to finish my jacket with the help of my sister and aunt.

Okay so back to the point. To kick off the first look in my series I decided to have another go for the ring master makeup. Here's the results. And of course I filmed a tutorial on it. This tutorial however I did slightly different than normal. Let me know what you guys think. Would you like to see the tutorials done this way with step by step instructions and music or me explaining the steps as we go through the motions. Let me know.
