February Ipsy :: Red Carpet Ready

For February's Ipsy bag the them was "Get Red Carpet Ready". There were some products I was excited about and some products I could have done with out. But that's the beauty of spending $10 for a month bag.

Included in this months bag was:
Lash Card Mascara Shields
Coastal Scents - In The Spotlight Shadow Palette
(Dark Goldenrod, Sunbeam, Golden Globe and Dark Garden Olive)
Pixi Flawless & Poreless Primer
Pop Smokey Lash Kapow Mascara in Smoky Black
MICA Beauty Gel Eyeliner in Black

I haven't had a chance to do any extensive testing out of any of the products but did check them briefly out.

Lash Card Mascara Shields
I think the concept and idea behind these are amazing! I know how annoying it is when you achieve the perfect eye makeup look and go for that final step of applying mascara then twitch or bump your skin and get mascara everywhere! However  I have to admit, I had a hard time using the shield on myself. I do think they'd be amazing for use on a client where you'd have better control!

Coastal Scents In The Spotlight Shadow Palette
I'm never disappointed when it comes to products from Coastal Scents. Their products always have amazing pigmentation but I wasn't to please with the color combination. I'm just not one for golds...

Pixi Flawless & Poreless Primer
I am ALWAYS looking for something to combat the visibility of pores on my skin. I mean what girl doesn't want to have flawless and pristine skin?! I can't speak on the longevity of this product cause I didn't get to test it out that far yet. But I have to say I didn't really see a difference in diminishing the look of my pores... Even after applying my foundation I didn't see a difference in the visibility of my pores. I have to say this was a big flop in my book..

Pop Smokey Lash Kapow Mascara
Between this and the gel eyeliner I can't decide which was my favorite product in this months Ipsy bag! I love how dark and long the mascara made my eyelashes! I could feel myself constantly fluttering my lashes cause of how wonderful they looked! I had no issues with clumping either! I can honestly say I see myself purchasing a full size mascara once this one runs out!

MICA Beauty Gel Eyeliner
I have to say I was pretty impressed from just swatching the product on the back of my hand. It went on super creamy and was richly pigmented even after drying it stayed a opaque black black. Some eyeliners can dry and gray out but this one definitively stayed BLACK! Plus it had great staying power! After it dried I applied amply pressure with my finger to smudge it and the liner didn't budge! I'm constantly rubbing my eyes or picking at my eyelashes so I'm always rubbing my eyeliner off this will be perfect to fight that!

Patent Leather Cosmetic Bag
This months bag wasn't to exciting but I was happy that it didn't smell strange like a couple of past bags have. It has a super shiny black exterior and a satin feel red liner. Giving the Red Carpet feel.
