Good morning darlings! The schedule for the blog is a bit messed up this week as it's my birthday week and we have a lot of fun things planned where I haven't had a chance to sit down and write a lot. However I wanted to make sure I got this post up this week cause I'm really jazzed about these products!
I was recently scent these products to review by Shannon from Younique and let me tell you I have captivated from the start. As a graphic designer I'm always judging package design, I'll even spend a little more money if the packaging looks better compared to the cheaper alternative (I know, not budget savvy but meh!) It's clean, simple and descriptive. Offering a view of the colors and tells you exactly what finish the pigments will be.
Once you open the boxes the you still have the same clean labeling all though I did notice the pigments labels were different but that didn't bother me to much. I like that the clear bottoms allowed for easy viewing of the colors so you don't have to spend a lot of time searching for your color once they get added into my collection.
Another thing I liked about the packaging was was the safety seals on the pigments. This way you know that A) the product is brand new & B) you don't have to worry about opening the container and BOOM pigment everywhere... trust me I've had it happen before it's not fun and sucks to clean up.
Next up are the colors I was sent. I like the range of colors I was scent, while I always gravitate towards blue and purples when purchasing shadows / pigment (even though I usually do more of a natural look now a days) I've started to get in the "lets push myself out of my comfort zone" so I also asked to try out the orange pigment which is called Giddy.
The colors are all super gorgeous and extremely pigmented. I didn't even need to apply a base when swatching the colors cause it really was a what you see if what you get.
That is literally a dab of my brush, tap the excess off and swipe on my arm. I so pleased with the pigmentation of these colors!
The last piece I was sent was the Refreshed Rose Water. Which if you've been around a while on the blog you know I'm weird when it comes to floral scents. Something about the always just weirds me out..
However, I gave it the good old try and was really pleased. The mist although felt like a little much felt refreshing, didn't have an over powering fragrance and dried without any sticky residue. A plus for me is once it was dry there was no scent just clean & soft skin.
Over all I really loved all the products I was sent and can definitely see myself picking up some more products to check out from Younique!
If you want to get some of your own Younique products I'd highly recommend them!

ReplyDeleteI've always wondered about Younique products after seeing them around on the blogs. I love the touch of sparkle that the metallic pigments have.

I love love love the names of the pigment colors! Products with great names always get me :)
ReplyDeleteAgain, Thank you so much for the review!! The reason I sent you the Refreshed (rose water) is because when mixed with the mineral pigments it makes them bolder, metallic and the color will last all day! I just spray my brush or when I want a really saturated look then I sprinkle some pigment into the cap and then spray the Refreshed into the cap and swirl my brush in there and apply! That's how I apply my eyeliner, mix devious and refreshed and apply with a liner brush, easy and doesn't smudge. Since they are mineral pigments they can be used anywhere, you can even mix with lip balm or gloss. Younique also has an amazing eye brush set that's made to get wet. If you don't have rose water just dampen the brush with some water for a creamy application :)

Such precious colors - love it!
ReplyDeleteI am stunned by the younique pigments. I hope you will use them soon in a youtube video! :) I have seen several younique products lately (perhaps a mascara) and been quite impressed.
ReplyDeleteThe 3D Fiber Lash is the hottest Younique seller. Its what made me become a Independent Presenter.
ReplyDeleteThe mist looks very cute and fun to use. Did you try the pigments dipping your brush in water!? They would probably be so much more vibrant, they are already looking good!
